About the Position: Vacancies are located at Darnell Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Major duties
Provide diagnostic evaluations, individual and group therapy, and brief evidence-based interventions within a multidisciplinary mental health clinic. Assess and manage acute and chronic mental health concerns, including suicide risk, crisis presentations, and complex biopsychosocial conditions. Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, command teams, and community partners to coordinate care, safety planning, and appropriate referrals. Develop and document treatment goals using the “specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound” format, and maintain complete clinical records in accordance with federal, state, and hospital regulations. Participate in and lead quality assurance and performance improvement activities, including reviewing clinical records, monitoring outcome measures, and evaluating clinical procedures. Provide staff education, professional development, and training on mental health topics to strengthen clinical practice across the organization.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health): Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing psychological evaluations, developing mental health treatment plans, and providing psychological counseling services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
