This position is located in the Dietary Services Department at the Great Plains Area Youth Regional Treatment Center (GPAYRTC) located in Wakpala, SD. The GPAYRTC is an 18 bed inpatient facility that provides 3 meals and 2 snacks a day to patients. Major duties

Prepares foods according to diet orders, menus and standardized recipes for residential Youth Regional Treatment Center clients, YRTC personnel and guest meals. Prepares food for cooking such as washing, peeling, chopping and grinding for cooking. Roasts, bakes, fries, boils and stews meats, fish and poultry. Monitors the preparation and evaluates the condition of the food being prepared at frequent intervals to ensure optimum flavor, quality and appearance. Observes high personal hygiene standards and all required safe food handling practices. Performs assigned cleaning duties as scheduled. Maintains food storages areas for cleanliness and proper storage and food labeling.
