About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Department of Family Medicine in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Advance in Hire authorized. This is available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Major duties

Perform biopsychosocial evaluations using expert knowledge of clinical psychology. Provide evidenced-based individual treatment and group therapy for patients. Provide intervention for individuals with mental health conditions to include assessment and disposition of beneficiaries with acute and chronic risk. Educate clinic staff on the principles of mental health via trainings and briefings. Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for a Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting psycho-diagnostic assessments to pediatric or adolescent population; providing crisis intervention to an individual or group setting; and assisting with developing treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Special Placement Factor: Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, common wealth, territory or jurisdiction. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
