This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major duties

You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and /or Rescue Team. You will perform thorough safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles. You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services. You will respond as a member of an emergency response company and perform assigned tasks during ambulance/ rescue responses. You will be periodically assigned to standby duties at the scene of hazardous operations. You will prioritize treatment for patients having multiple problems and employ a variety of established emergency medical/medicine techniques, methods, and equipment to intervene on the patient's behalf. You will report in a clear/concise manner, orally or in writing, what injuries were identifies and what care was administered at the scene or in transit. You will decontaminate vehicle and equipment as directed by protocols. You will conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of their condition and search for medical alert symbols. You will participate and lead classes on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other topic areas for Emergency Medical Technician.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a Firefighter AND Paramedic performing and providing structural and wild land firefighting, emergency medical response and treatment (e.g., Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); advanced life support (ALS); airway management, emergency childbirth), rescue operations (e.g., high and low angle rescue, trench confined space rescue, auto extrication), hazardous materials response and transporting emergency personnel and patients safely to emergency room. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
