Major duties
You will serve as boiler plant operator on a rotating watch assignment, operating, maintaining, and performing preventive maintenance on high pressure utility boilers and related machinery, equipment and systems. You will independently start, operate, adjust, stop, maintain, and perform various operational repairs in multiple-fuel (oil and natural gas) power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment. You will check measurement devices (e.g., feed water regulators, flow meters, flue gas temperature gauges, water level indicators) to determine if boilers are operating within prescribed limits. You will perform operational maintenance and make repairs of limited/moderate complexity on mechanical or electrical parts. You will maintain narrative log on plant operating conditions and communicate plant status to supervisor, leader, and next shift operators.

Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1. Starting, operating, adjusting, stopping, maintaining, and performing various operational repairs on single or multiple fuel power boilers while providing technical assistance on difficult or unusual problems 2. Testing feed water, boiler water, and condensate using standard tests and determine the treatment and chemicals to be used to control boiler chemistry. 3. Troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on boiler plant and electrical generating equipment and their associated auxiliaries.
