Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor
What you'd do
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DoD Statutory Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Position serves as the technical and administrative supervisor over the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Exercises full supervisory responsibility over work operations, to include planning, work direction, and administration for wastewater treatment operations.
Major duties
Provides general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities and policies, and relies on the incumbent to control work operations, and accomplish an adequate quantity and quality of work. Plans weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Selects workers and assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures; and, provides advice when problems arise. Exercises full supervisory responsibility over work operations and subordinate civilian personnel. Possess working experience and knowledge with plant equipment and operated industrial and domestic wastewater collection pumping stations and operations.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor without more than normal supervision to include planning and/or coordinating and/or directing a variety of wastewater treatment plant operations and/or functions; and working experience and knowledge with plant equipment and operated industrial and domestic wastewater collection pumping stations and operations. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Prolonged walking, climbing, standing, and occasionally lifting, pushing and/or carrying items weighing 50 pounds or more. Working Conditions: The incumbent works inside and outside in all kinds of weather and areas considered permit required confined space. When working outside, may be in contact with dirty and greasy machinery when performing maintenance or operational tasks.
