Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Big Bend Sector, Mission Readiness Operations Division, Workforce Management, located in Marfa, TX. Major duties
This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10) As a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, your typical job assignments will include: Supervising a group of administrative employees responsible for assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations. Identifying and implementing ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative services. Planning, assigning, and adjusting work priorities for subordinates to ensure timely completion of tasks. Evaluating work performance, providing guidance, and counseling employees on work and administrative matters. Interviewing candidates, recommending personnel actions, and resolving employee complaints and minor disciplinary issues. What you need to qualify
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Advising senior leaders, supervisors, and staff on workforce management issues, developed and coordinated hiring plans, and assisted in implementing sector workforce policies and procedures. Generating and maintaining various personnel reports, monitored staffing tables and personnel actions, and served as a liaison to ensure timely completion of workforce-related actions. Researching and analyzing data for cases with workforce implications, collaborating with external components, and preparing reports to track spending, resolve payroll discrepancies, and forecast expenditures. Organizing logistical elements of mission support operations, including scheduling travel and training, managing procurement processes, and serving as a point of contact for staff on emerging business process trends. Supporting performance appraisal and awards programs by monitoring employee eligibility, tracking overtime hours and pay, and preparing reports for senior managers using internal and automated systems NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
