What you'd do
This position is located at the Cannon Community Club but may fill other vacancies in the Business Recreation Division. Join our team at the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum. We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of Soldiers and their Families by providing essential support services and recreational activities that directly contribute to Soldier readiness and well-being. Major duties
Prepares and cooks a variety of food items that require simple processing, such as breakfast items, hamburgers, vegetables, soups, and sauces. Performs various food preparation tasks including peeling, chopping, grinding, slicing, and dicing, and accurately weighs and measures ingredients according to standardized recipes. Operates a range of kitchen equipment powered by gas, electricity, steam, or microwave heat sources, and is responsible for its cleaning and basic maintenance. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment and work areas, including worktables, floors, and refrigerators, adhering to established schedules and procedures. Ensures food is handled and stored at correct temperatures to prevent bacterial growth and follows all established sanitation protocols.
What you need to qualify
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: experience preparing basic food dishes, storing foods to prevent spoiling, etc., AND ability to follow written and verbal instructions, particularly standard recipes, and detailed cooking instructions, AND ability to operate, disassemble and clean basic food service equipment such as griddles, broilers, and food grinders, AND ability to perform basic arithmetic (e.g., add, subtract, multiply etc...) to measure ingredients in a recipe.
