About the position: This position is located at Antelope Crossing Cafe on F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming. This position is considered Flexible and is guaranteed 0.00 hours but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. Flexible employees are not eligible for leave or benefits. The starting pay for this position is $18.89 per hour.
Major duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performs a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables. Prepares hot cereals, broiled meats. Prepares and cooks concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, gravies, and makes cold sandwich fillings. Prepares convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets. Some cooks at this level prepare and bake pizza Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading; weighs, measures and assembles ingredients for regular menu items; set up and replenishes salad bar; portions foods for distribution and meal service, and and covers, dates, and stores leftovers according to established procedures. Washes and cleans kitchen equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Physical Effort: Continual standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing over 40 pounds with assistance. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience This is an entry level position and no minimum qualifications are required for this position. Previous knowledge of food preparation and operation and cleaning of food service equipment is desired. This is a developmental job position in which incumbent will show progressive knowledge in the duties and responsibilities and complete training within 3 months of hiring, and when a mastery of the duties is shown the incumbent will be promoted to the Cook, NA-04 position. Experience with operation and cleaning of food service equipment, and knowledge of food preparation and presentation is desired. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to pass a physical and complete food handlers training. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries/Tier 1 Background Investigation (NACI/Tier 1).
