THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number PDT5151000 and is part of the KY USPFO, National Guard.

Major duties

As a ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN, GS-0525-8, you will perform analysis on management systems and apply information to complicated cases to resolve accounting processing actions. Analyze and evaluate data to conduct fiscal reconciliations, reviews, and account adjustments. Reconcile accounting and budget data. Balance all Program Managers' accounts with the federal database of record. Analyze fiscal transaction problems/issues. Apply pertinent fiscal laws, regulations, precedent decisions, and procedures to determine appropriate action for resolution. Reconstruct inaccurate accounts, gather and organize information for inquiries and resolve problems. Use fiscal accounting and interfaced systems to provide input/adjustments to the fiscal accounting database of record and other systems. Ensure adjustments relating to account balances, contract modifications, collections, disbursements, garnishments, or other actions are performed accurately and timely. Schedule, run, and analyze various fiscal accounting reports. Perform other duties as assigned. What you need to qualify

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience in arithmetic principles, and application of established procedures for recording and compiling data. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one (1) year experience at the next lower level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the experience and knowledge of applying basic principles of budgetary and cost accounting. Practical knowledge and judgment to reconstruct inaccurate accounts, gathers and organizes information for inquiries and resolves problems. Knowledge and skill to suggest specific changes to the guidelines themselves, development of control mechanisms, and specific guidance related to the procedural handling of documents and information. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques to conduct a variety of fiscal reconciliations, reviews, and account adjustments. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.
