What you'd do
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Redbank Golf Course located in Goose Creek, SC at the Naval Weapons Station . This position is a flexible position, may work 0-40 hours per week based on mission/programming requirements.
Major duties
l. Maintains the Golf facility in an orderly and clean manner. Vacuum cleans rugs, and draperies. Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial type power equipment. Adjusts and changes buffers, brushes and other attachments on power equipment. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Empties ashtrays and wastebaskets. Polishes door knobs and other metal fixtures. Cleans glass partitions, inside and outside windows, using stepladders and extension ladders. Maintains restrooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes, lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans, mirrors, and water fountains. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap. Reports all violations of safety to immediate supervisor. Maintains supply of cleaning materials, and advises supervisor when more supplies are needed, or when equipment needs repair or replacement. Ensures adequate stock of cleaning materials and equipment required to do the work. Waters indoor and outdoor container plants. Maintains appearance of exterior of the facility; picking up litter, pull weeds on brick driveways. 2. Assist in setting up rooms for special functions, parties, and banquets. Arranges and sets up tables and chairs. Places appropriate linen on tables. Breaks down or resets rooms upon conclusion of function subject to schedule. 3. During lunch schedule: Cleans tables, removes dirty dishes and silverware. Maintains ample supply of dishes, glasses and silverware for lunch buffet. Helps maintain the lunch buffet for cleanliness. Assist in bringing out food for buffet line and salad bar. Serves grill menu items to guests, assists guests in need of help with beverage and food service. Ensures guest lunch areas are set-up and prepared, such as open window blinds, lights, salt & peppers, etc. 4. May be required to assist in the preparation and service of espresso-based coffee/specialty drinks as needed. 5. May perform other related duties as assigned. Position is a position of trust. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in the proper use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions. Must be able to plan coordinate and time sequence steps needed to meet time constraints of work assignments. Must be able to clean and make adjustments to powered cleaning equipment. Must be able to perform the full range of cleaning duties. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to occasionally lift and carry objects weighting 20 pounds or more. Must be able to continuously stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. Must satisfactorily complete a Tier-1 investigation.
