What you'd do

You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (RANGE OPERATIONS) in the FORCE PROTECTION DIVISION of NAVSTA EVERETT SEC DET.

Major duties

You will perform and/or monitor standardized procedures of established hazardous waste management to include managing waste collection and disposal area, and maintaining Waste Identification Documents (WIDs) on all waste collection containers. You will conduct small arms brass cleaning duties to clear range of live or active small arms ammunition rounds. You will document small arms range operations schedules (e.g., range cleaning, brass removal and certification, facility management) to ensure the range remains operational. You will perform duties as a Range Safety Officer (RSO) as needed. RSO's are certified small arms instructors. You will perform administrative duties documenting facility management of ammunition, weapons, and discrepancies.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience may demonstrate some of the following: 1) Providing a variety of small arms range operations support; 2) Ensuring that hazardous waste management, industrial hygiene, small arms brass gleaning, small arms range maintenance, lead awareness and brass and debris disposal are in accordance with established policies and procedures; and 3) Maintaining scheduled range cleaning, industrial hygiene and environmental reports.
