What you'd do

This position is located at Pershing Community Center at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. **This announcement is open and continuous; closing 09/24/2026 or until the position is filled. Weekly reviews and lists sent to management starting 25 June 2026; additional lists may be sent at management request.**

Major duties

Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters. Prepares food, operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation. Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware. Loads and operate dishwashers. Stores cleaned dishes, glasses and silverware. Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. Sets up tableware, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables. Work is reviewed in progress or upon completion for compliance with instructions and established practices. Responsible to identify and report obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, and any other situations that may impact work operations. Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Cleans windows and washes walls. Cleans and sanitizes trash cans; disposes of trash. Performs other duties as assigned.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures Must have the ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and be able to read and understand written material. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. Complete routine work assignments are completed with little supervision. Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easy to learn. **Your resume should be clear and specific. Assumptions will not be made regarding your experience and the duties performed ** In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered Highly Preferred: Have experience i food service, preferably in restaurants or catering and banquets **To meet Highly Preferred eligibility, you must meet all Minimum and Highly Preferred Qualifications, and this information must be clearly detailed on your resume.** *Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
