Major duties
You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the EKMS DIVISION (N00SM4), SECURITY MANAGER DEPARTMENT (N00SM) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station (NCTAMS). You will handle guidelines, methods, precedents and techniques applicable to all phases of Communications Security (COMSEC) management You will serve as the assistant to the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Manager for the Mobile User’s Objective System (MUOS) account. You will work directly with Naval Communications Security Material System (NCMS) and Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC) to verify processes and procedures being developed concerning KMI use within the program. You will identify and provide documentation to problem areas and recommend solutions. You will consult and advise the Regional Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager in the development, implementation and management of policy in all KMI and COMSEC matters both technical and administrative. You will prepare and manage the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for all COMSEC and KMI material/cryptographic equipment. You will conduct required drills of the EAP and provide training and guidance to all communication users. You will advise the communications community in matters pertaining to the management and administration of security and handling of COMSEC Material System (CMS) material. You will provide solutions to security problems and questions and develop alternatives designed to meet requirement in a variety of circumstances.
What you need to qualify
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience using the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Advanced Key Processor, Management Client (AKP/MGC) systems. -Experience distributing Communications Security (COMSEC) material (electronically and physically) properly in accordance with approved security regulations. -Experience drafting and implementing procedures for COMSEC handling. -Experience handling, shipping, and receiving COMSEC Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI) equipment. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-0080-12.
