Recreation Assistant (Riding Instructor) NF-02
What you'd do
This position is located at MWR Buffalo Corral Riding Stables on Fort Huachuca, AZ. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Subsequent referrals to the Hiring Manager will occur weekly. The first cut-off date for this position will be July 1st, 2026. Then every Wednesday thereafter until all positions are filled.
Major duties
Instructs patrons of a recreational facility in horsemanship, applying practical knowledge of equestrian activities. Assist with individual rentals, boarding, group events such as pony circles, organized trail rides, youth horse camp and special public events. Promotes interest in programming by making presentation to units, schools and interfacing with other recreation activities. Monitories activities for services to determine the budget process for financial accountability of the program. Conducts riding lessons, organizing group events and horse camp for children. May assist with feeding, care of horses, basic maintenance repairs of riding equipment, and trail rides. May operate vehicle to deliver horses to special events. Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to qualify
Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must possess at least six (6) months of work experience that includes the following duties: assist with individual rentals, boarding, group events (e.g. pony circles, organized trail rides, etc.); assist with feeding, care of horses, basic maintenance repairs of riding equipment, etc. Work experience in a customer service focused environment. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": One (1) year or more experience in instructing riding skills in both English and Western pleasure.
