This position is located at the Outdoor Recreation Complex on Fort Carson. This position is a FLEX position. FLEX positions can be worked anywhere between 0 - 40 hours per week. Hours are not guaranteed. Major duties

Works under general supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as a Recreation Assistant, instructing groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs. Teaches children as well as adults. Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority. Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers. Reports any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to guests.

Qualification Requirements: Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Applicants pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program will be considered highly qualified.
