IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)
What you'd do
You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the SPECIAL PROJECTS SUPPORT BRANCH AD872, DIGITAL NETWORKS & APPLICATIONS (DNA) DEPARTMENT AD8 of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Major duties
You will design, scale, and maintain high-availability virtualization platforms to host critical business workloads, optimizing host resource utilization, storage provisioning, and cluster resiliency. You will oversee the architecture, security, and integration of enterprise directory services and server operating systems, ensuring robust access controls, centralized policy management, and seamless identity management. You will standardize and automate the lifecycle management of client endpoints, establishing secure baseline configurations, streamlined OS deployment workflows, and centralized software distribution across all user workstations. You will establish and validate comprehensive backup, recovery, and failover strategies to guarantee minimal data loss and rapid service restoration during system disruptions or disasters.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Participating in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies; 2) Resolving issues identified during troubleshooting of products to ensure all are functioning as intended; 3) Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed Information Systems; and 4) Assisting in assessing security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions.
