Major duties

You will serve as Director of the Facilities Management Division (FMD). You will serve as the subject matter expert for Facility Support Contracts, Real Property Management, and Public Works products and services. You will provide authoritative advice and assistance to program managers, Regional Engineers, installation commanders, Public Works personnel, and other personnel. You will conduct briefings, respond to official inquiries, and act to obtain needed information, assistance, clearances, permits, etc. You will be responsible for continuous process improvements, personnel skills, equipment and facilities use and replacement, and the development and marketing of better maintenance and contracting services. You will provide oversight for the development of long-term facilities requirement plans, site planning, and project development. You will formulate budget requirements to implement improvements and cost saving procedures in operations. You will plan, budget, direct, and coordinate Public Works services. You will direct personnel and provide technical coordination and integration of work, goals, and objectives. You will supervise and evaluate subordinate personnel to ensure reasonable equity of performance standards and rating techniques. You will perform other duties as they are assigned.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing a program for public works services, facility contracts, office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military installations, or other special-purpose installations; 2) Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of contractors 3) Reviewing project plans and specifications, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations; 4) Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects; 5) Developing and planning comprehensive design, construction, and maintenance plans, execution strategies, and budgets.
