What you'd do
This position is located at: Fort Campbell, KY Auto Skills - Air Assault Auto. This is a Regular Part Time position (20-39 hours per week) with eligibility for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual. Major duties
Safely operates platform trucks (tow truck) throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions. Safely operates roll back wrecker and fork lift. Transports vehicles, supplies, and various types of materials and large items that fit a platform truck to various facilities. Responsible for loading and unloading cargo and materials, securing and transporting vehicles. Completes paperwork regarding wreck and/or impounded vehicles to include occasionally taking payment of services provided. Ensures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation. Responsible for filling out driver's accident report in case of accident. Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations. Completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records. Assists with abandoned vehicle auctions as directed. Keeps impound and wrecked vehicle lot organized and clean. Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to qualify

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Applicant must possess a valid Class D driver's license with F endorsement issued by the state in which employed. Must have 12 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate. Knowledge of loading/unloading cargo capacity. Knowledge of the processing of wreck and impounded vehicles. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possesses experience operating wreckers and recovering cars and trucks from accident scenes and/or removing abandoned vehicles from various locations. Possesses a valid Class A or B Commercial drivers license. ***Applicants that meet the highly preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first.
