What you'd do

The position works with the VTS Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program.

Major duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Performs work involving consult management, appointment scheduling and admissions scheduling. Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports. Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas. Plans consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner. Plans for, organizes, administers, and directs how the work will be accomplished for the VTS program. Review workload types in Veteran Transportation Service e.g. outpatient clinic visits, surgical admissions. Daily validate program workload and ensure reporting is accurate. Responds to "action required" notifications, ensuring the primary providers are correct. .Plans and provides support services in the following types of program areas: electronic records management; driver scheduling setup & management; space utilization services. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (schedule may vary based on the needs of the agency) Telework: This position may be authorized for telework. What you need to qualify

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/06/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education ss described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Experience interacting with the public or veterans. Experience with customer service issues, resolving concerns politely and efficiently. Experience with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience using electronic medical records or travel reimbursement systems. Physical Requirements: Will be exposed to stressful working situations that require a professional attitude and collective reasoning. Subject to a high volume of work, the need for accuracy, frequency of interruptions and ever-changing demands due to program changes. The work required does not inherently include any physical requirements essential for successful job performance that could not otherwise be performed with accommodation or workplace adjustment. A pre-placement physical examination is not required.
