Major duties

This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard (PRANG). Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete an online Onboarding process.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. AREA 1 = All permanent Enlisted Technician (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Air National Guard. AREA 2 = All indefinite Enlisted Technician (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Air National Guard. First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates). To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor. DUTIES: As a SUPERVISORY HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (D1721000), GS-0671-10, you will is to serve as the full-time Health Systems Specialist for the installation, geographically separated units (GSU(s), and tenant units, with responsibility for managing all medical administrative functions including medical support, medical operations, force health management and related medical applications. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is primarily sedentary, but demands some standing, walking and bending. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The incumbent is exposed to no unusual risks or discomforts. Work is performed in an office setting in the clinic that is adequately lighted and climate controlled. QUALIFICATIONS: You will lose consideration for the position if your application does not include all the information/documents requested on the vacancy announcement. The applicant is credited with actual number of months the member has been in the National Guard provided such service is related to the position to be filled. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Work that requires a knowledge of the basic principles and practices related to the management of a health care delivery system. Experience may have been gained as an administrative officer, management analyst, or administrative or clinical program manager or supervisor in a health care delivery system. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower level, or the equivalent of TWENTY-FOUR (24) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel; oversees medical facility management; maintains compliance with all regulatory and legal force health management requirements; provides policy guidance and interpretation to senior management officials to ensure compliance with medical aspects; determines eligibility, authorizes and coordinates civilian and military medical care for Active Guard Reserve personnel and other eligible beneficiaries; processes LODs; builds and maintains strong relations and understanding of civilian healthcare system and the TRICARE program; prepares the medical annual operational budget; interprets regulations and assists in their implementation for the installation; ensures that plans and schedules are prepared for Medical Group members and support personnel to attain combat ready proficiency.
