This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Shift Supervisor for the Security Guard force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at USAG Natick, MA.
Major duties
Serve as a Shift Supervisor who exercises direct supervision of the activities of a guard force shift consisting of subordinate Security Guards at the GS-06 level and Lead Security Guards. Responsible for performing a diverse range protective responsibilities over Federal property, employees, and visitors. Plan and coordinate the activities of a guard force shift, to ensure the maintenance of physical security standards; enforcement of federal state, and local laws and official orders and regulations. Develop training plans based on approved training courses and regulatory requirements and supervises necessary training for guard personnel in the use of weapons, protection against espionage, sabotage, and other organized subversive actions. Perform supervisory and administrative duties relating to the security guard force. Inspect the personnel appearance and the knowledge of duties of the on duty guard force.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes leading personnel performing access control operations, safeguarding personnel, information and critical assets; using access control equipment; regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic and providing comprehensive reports of work deficiencies to higher level supervisors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
