Major duties

Conducts the more complex systems tests involving multifaceted interfaces between DJMS AC and/or DJMS RC and the personnel system, other services finance offices, members, DEERS, etc., and the integration of data from one subsystem to another. Analyzes and evaluates the effects of new programs, system changes, and major revisions to existing systems. Develops test criteria and conditions for a variety of system changes to DJMS AC and/or RC. Interprets instructions and reviews systems charts, work flow charts, and systems specification package for procedural adequacy and to determine test processes necessary to adequately evaluate system changes. Trains new or lower graded employees on proper methods of systems testing.

What you need to qualify

For GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-11 level is defined as: Demonstrate experience assisting in the analysis and testing of Defense Joint Military Systems (DJMS) and other financial management systems. Participate in system tests to verify accuracy and reliability, while helping to develop test plans and criteria under supervision. Analyze DJMS test results to identify and report system errors or deficiencies within a collaborative team setting. For GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-12 level is defined as: Proven experience is required in testing complex financial systems, specifically the Defense Joint Military Pay System (DJMS), including the development of test plans and the analysis of results. A deep understanding of the DJMS to create test criteria, analyze the effects of system changes on military pay, and ensure modifications do not adversely impact other system components. This role requires strong experience in resolving highly technical DJMS problems, identifying system deficiencies, and providing expert guidance across all operational levels. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
