What you'd do

As a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST, you will serve as a Senior Field Security Manager and an advisor to the Threat Management Division Chief, Deputy Chief, and Regional Chief on the security posture of USCIS offices.

Major duties

Coordinates and provides field leadership with direction and guidance for managing and implementing the USCIS security program at the regional, district, and office levels. Assigns tasks and projects to regional security specialists, ensuring work is spread evenly and completed thoroughly, efficiently, cost effectively, and timely. Administers decisions and resolves problems involving subordinate staff disputes and unusual situations where there is an absence of information or no clear precedent, and issues requiring interpretation of applicable procedures and guidelines. Ensures regulatory compliance of USCIS proprietary security forms/documents, secured properties, classified and sensitive unclassified material/files by planning and conducting facility-specific program review and spot inspections. Provides oversight and support of all aspects of physical security at USCIS facilities.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 07/06/2026. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 07/06/2026. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the ALL of the following duties: Performing threat and facility physical security assessments; Developing and implementing policy, standards, and procedures for security programs; Analyzing and resolving broad and complex security problems; Developing collaborative relationships to facilitate security solutions.
