Major duties
As a IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT) at the NH-2210-3 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as a Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS) Data Architect and technical data expert for assigned enterprise-level data architecture(s) including related systems-level data architectures exercising independent judgment and discretion in interpreting associated architecture and data administration policies in data architecture development. Execute the program's data strategy and implementation plans, define organizational policy, and ensure alignment with organizational and department-level policy. Evaluate impacts of new data technologies on the JTMS technical architecture and policies and provide conclusions and recommendations that have a major impact on top-level management plans and decisions regarding requirements definition, planning and acquisition of major upgrades, and new system capabilities. Collaborate with DoD and USTRANSCOM CDAO POCs on departmental and command data governance efforts. Evaluate existing systems and capabilities, especially from an enterprise data perspective, and initiate feasibility studies and analyses to determine ways and means necessary to enhance data interoperability and normalization across the Joint Deployment Distribution Enterprise. Determine enterprise data requirements and provide alternatives and a recommended course of action. Review system data model and documentation for compliance with applicable standards.
What you need to qualify
You may qualify at the NH 3 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-2 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Define and implement organizational data strategy in alignment with business objectives. Design and maintain the overall data architecture, including logical and physical data models, data warehouses, and integration frameworks. Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices. Collaborate with organizational leaders, data personnel, and analysts to understand data requirements. Evaluate and recommend data management tools, platforms, and technologies. Advise and implement current IT architectural concepts, frameworks and new and emerging, IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and data related technologies. Apply knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, Agile, and Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) principles. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
