What you'd do

About the position: This is a flexible position, you will be assigned to The High Desert Inn on Edwards Air Force Base, California. Clean lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas by sweeping, mopping, waxing, dusting, polishing, etc.

Major duties

Clean lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned lodging areas by sweeping, mopping, waxing, dusting, polishing, etc. Clean and sanitize guest room appliances, cooking utensils, and dishes. Wash walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached unassisted or using stepping stools. Make beds, change linen, and empty wastebaskets. Use the telephone system to update room status, occupancy, and checkouts. Clean, disinfect, and deodorize lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls and replace deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items. Note condition of facilities and report to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance. Keep a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed and advise supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement. Perform other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Be able to follow simple oral and written instructions. Have the ability to use hand or lightweight powered cleaning tools or equipment. Be physically able to frequently lift and empty wastebaskets as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds. Have the ability to continuously stand, stoop, and reach for long periods of time. Satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check/National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
