Direct Hiring Authority for Prevention Workforce Positions: These positions are being filled under Direct Hiring Authority for Prevention Workforce Occupations. The Secretary of the Air Force has delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense to directly appoint individuals to select for certain prevention workforce occupations. Positions are located Air Force-Wide.
Major duties
****Duties and responsibilities vary and may increase according to grade level**** Manage and direct the activities of the Integrated Resilience Strategic Partnership Division Project Management Branch ensuring that work complies with Manpower, Personnel and Services requirements and meets customer needs. Balance the interest of a variety of clients, both internal and external to the organization, the Air Force (AF), Department of Defense (DoD), and outside agencies to achieve mission goals and objectives. Direct the full range of actions and lead efforts to establish, administer, forecast cost and manage single /multi-year contracts. Develop goals and objectives that integrate planning and integration objectives based on new and revised legislation. Provide guidance to installations and major commands by establishing coordination mechanisms for organizational regulatory activities.
What you need to qualify
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements for 0300 series & Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions. GS-09: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07 level or equivalent pay system. Examples of specialized experience include experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent pay band performing limited duties interpersonal and self-direct violence (ISDV) program which includes sexual assault prevention and response, domestic violence, child maltreatment, workplace violence and suicide. OR EDUCATION: Two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. GS-11: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent pay band performing duties related to interpersonal and self-direct violence (ISDV) program which includes sexual assault prevention and response, domestic violence, child maltreatment, workplace violence and suicide under limited supervision. OR EDUCATION: Three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPTS. GS-12: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience performing duties related to interpersonal and self-direct violence (ISDV) program which includes sexual assault prevention and response, domestic violence, child maltreatment, workplace violence and suicide. GS-13: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience performing complex duties related to interpersonal and self-direct violence (ISDV) program which includes sexual assault prevention and response, domestic violence, child maltreatment, workplace violence and suicide. GS-14: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience performing more complex duties related to interpersonal and self-direct violence (ISDV) program which includes sexual assault prevention and response, domestic violence, child maltreatment, workplace violence and suicide. GS-15: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes directing all aspects of a complex integrated interpersonal and self-direct violence (ISDV) program which includes sexual assault prevention and response, domestic violence, child maltreatment, workplace violence and suicide and directing work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources; mentoring, motivating, and appraising the staff of an organization. Knowledge of laws, executive orders, regulations, policies, directives, principles, and practices governing resilience programs, Interpersonal and Self-Direct Violence (ISDV) Services principles and practices. 2. Knowledge of policies, procedures, methods, and communication techniques to develop, revise, and advise on programs to meet resilience program goals and objectives including those of the Crisis Action Battle Staff/Crisis Action Team with available resources. 3. Knowledge of organizational structures, missions, objectives, operating programs, key positions, protocol, and administrative policies and procedures to conduct engagements and collaborations, which are frequently ad hoc team efforts, to identify, consider, and recommend options for the resolution of substantive organizational and program issues or complex problems not susceptible to treatment by standard methods. 4. Skill in justifying, defending, and recommending decisions on an end-to-end program within a matrix organization. 5. Skill in communicating, both orally and in writing, to provide seasoned consulting to operating managers and other specialists; lead team studies, negotiate complex, controversial issues; provide informational briefings to include options and recommendations to high level management; and establish and maintain effective and positive working relationships. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
