CONTRACT SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST n the CONTRACTS DIRECTORATE of NAVAL SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
Major duties
You will be responsible for all matters pertaining to the contract through the life of the contract. You will have the ability to act as both a contract expert and a business advisor in developing business and contracting strategies in the Defense Acquisition environment. You will serve as a technical authority for field visits and reviews and serves as a member of task force. You will make contractual decisions and procurement policies/procedures and recommendations. You will conduct the full range of post-award activities including, but not limited to, execution of complex modifications for change orders, increases in scope, equitable adjustments and more. You will develop and present convincing oral/written presentations to all levels of government and industry.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, directing, coordinating, and executing contractual and procurement policy actions involved in supporting sophisticated and technologically advanced systems; 2) Conveying business-related information and formal presentations, orally and in writing to high-level government and industry officials; 3) Analyzing contractor proposals and developing corresponding negotiations; 4) Monitoring development and acquisition activities to promote and maintain maximum coordination and integration.
