ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Power and Energy Systems Division (JXM), Undersea Energy Systems Branch (JXMT), Special Projects Section (JXMTN) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The NT-05 pay band is equivalent to the GS-13/14. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).
Major duties
You will learn skills, knowledge, and experience to understand fundamentals of emerging battery technologies, including Nickle-Zinc, Lithium-ion, other emerging chemistries, cell design, performance, and testing. You will create and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and systems engineering milestones using applicable programs like Excel, Microsoft Project. You will develop Risk Management practices by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating project risk associated with schedule, cost, or methodology. You will work with engineers and technicians to obtain information to estimate costs, manage the project budget, and track expenditures to ensure the project stays within financial constraints. You will develop and brief technical and programmatic information to engineers, technicians, leadership and customers. You will act as primary interface between government, customers and contractor teams, ensuring all contractual agreements are met. You will provide technical support to leads on visits to shipyards and vendor manufacturing facilities.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading the planning and execution of projects, programs or initiatives by managing project resources and quality deliverables to ensure mission objectives are met.
