What you'd do

This National Guard position is for a PAINTER (Temp Promo-OBO)-T32, Position Description Number D2127000 and is part of the WI CSMS, Wisconsin Army National Guard. *At management's discretion, this Temporary Promotion may be made permanent without further competition in accordance with 5CFR 335.103(c)(1)(i)

Major duties

As a PAINTER (Temp Promo-OBO)-T32, WG-4102-9, you will prepare and apply coating materials such as paints, varnishes, and rust proofing compounds on stationary and mobile equipment and on combat, tactical and commercial vehicles.

What you need to qualify

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the candidate's knowledge of surface preparation (removal of rust, dirt, paint, etc.); coating methods (brushing, rolling, and spraying); and coating materials (paints, varnishes, shellacs, etc.). Must have the ability to use tools and equipment associated with the painting trade and to read and interpret directions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the WG-4102-09 level, you must have experience or training which demonstrates the candidate's knowledge of any surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Skill in building up, shaping, and leveling surfaces with metal and synthetic resins, plastics, and patching compounds; obtain finely smoothed surfaces with abrasive compounds, pumice, and rottenstone; even out dents and scars by burning-in processes; and treat surfaces with pre-coating agents.
