What you'd do
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Dobbins Information, Ticket and Travel program on Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia. The position is a flexible position, which means you are not guaranteed hours or benefits but could work anywhere between 0 and 40 hours per week. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
Major duties
Performs and/or assists in the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events and ensures rules and regulations are followed. Tests water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation. Demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water-sports areas, firing ranges, and hunting areas. Demonstrates equipment and techniques for outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating. Sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games when practical knowledge of rules and procedures is required. Inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general condition. Schedules campsites, cabins, boats, and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas, ensuring they are vacated or returned in good order. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. Practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Ability and skill in dealing with the public.
