What you'd do

You will serve as a Weight Handling Equipment Superintendent in the Public Works Directorate of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Major duties

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the weight handling and waterfront support equipment operations., maintenance and repair. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities. You will utilize software applications such as word processing tools, spreadsheets, metrics related programs, and data entry tools. You will apply extensive knowledge of crane, weight handling and rigging operations procedures, regulations, processes and operations of category 1 weight handling equipment. You will communicate effectively with senior levels of management and military officials to resolve difficulties, acquire information, plan coordinate, and advise on issues.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) leading/supervising a mixed workforce of both GS and Wage Grade personnel; 2) Utilizing job relevant information and software applications such as word processing tools, spreadsheets, metrics related programs, and data entry tools; 3) Applying extensive knowledge of crane, weight handling and rigging operations procedures, regulations, processes and operations of category 1 weight handling equipment; 4) Communicating effectively with senior levels of management and military officials to resolve difficulties, acquire information, plan coordinate, and advise on issues; 5) Proficiency in rigging and crane operations, combined with leadership qualities proven to command respect and drive results Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
