About the Position: Serves as Health Insurance Technician at the Guthrie Army Health Clinic - Resources Management Division at Fort Drum, New York. Salary negotiation MAY be available to those new to Federal Service.
Major duties
Conduct analyses of the claims/billing process. Interview appropriate individuals to obtain information on insurance carrier. Research statutory regulatory policies, procedures, standards and principles for use in budget preparations and operations. Perform customer service activities for internal/external customers within the immediate organization to support programmatic and financial submissions. Analyze reports on a periodic basis to ensure accuracy and precision. Apply specific procedures and established methods – to include work of automated systems processes to leverage the system’s capabilities to produce valid and accurate results.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting analyses of claims/billing processes; maintaining medical records, preparing insurance claims for collections and/or reconciling patient insurance claim accounts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-05. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
