About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Manatee Cove Marina. Responsible for the management of Manatee Cove Marina, including food and beverage services, membership programs, maintenance, budgeting, marketing, and boating activities. Requires flexible availability for rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
Major duties
Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of the Manatee Cove Marina, a membership activity with an associated sales store, food and beverage operations, maintenance, and wet and dry boat dockage and storage. Implements higher-level directives and formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of recreational and entertainment/promotional programs, as well as food and beverage and boating activities. Formulates and executes detailed budgets, strategic improvement plans, capital requirements budgets, marketing initiatives, and facility improvements to ensure long-term program viability. Reviews budgets, analyzes financial results, and maintains financial conditions as required by AF standards and local key performance indicators. Through Membership Operations and the Operations Clerk, establishes, reviews, and evaluates menu planning, food service, and the purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Through the Membership Coordinator, develops and maintains general membership programs and activities to recruit and sustain membership and maintain administrative records. Through the Marina Maintenance Supervisor, manages and maintains both wet and dry storage, rental agreements, customer liability insurance, and real property resources. Provides advice on renovations, improvements, and minor and major construction. Responsible for workforce management, recruitment, and staff training. Ensures proper military and civilian protocol is practiced. Works with the Marina Club Board of Officers to foster membership participation, support, and suggestions to maintain a profitable and safe activity. Position requires uncommon duty schedules to meet customer demands and program objectives. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work that provided a general knowledge of management principles and practices and progressively responsible experience in one or more functions of revenue-generating operation is required. Experience must include direct supervision over various phases of management operations (budgeting, human resources, long-range capital planning, facility management and customer service). Preferred but not required, experience in managing a Department of Defense revenue generating activity. A good working knowledge of operating and handling leisure watercraft is desirable, as well as knowledge of standard boating safety & regulatory rules.
