About the Position: The installation rests in the beautiful 'hill and lake' country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Waco, 160 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. Major duties
Responsible for planning and directing the work of the Branch and supervising the assigned staff who are engaged in the maintenance, repair, modification of facilities roads, parking lots, and ranges for Fort Hood, Robert Gray Army Airfield, etc. Provides guidance for the management of a variety of complex real property repair projects being executed by both in-house civilian staff and contractors. Applies theories and principles to review designs and specifications, provides requirement input to real property repair contracts. Studies, interprets, and implements regulations and directives, analyzes program requirements, develops division policies and operating procedures, and plans for accomplishment of major and complex work operations on a long-range basis. Provides consultation, guidance and advice to the Director. Applies knowledge of techniques for the administration and inspection of installation-wide contracts. Using multi-disciplined knowledge, skills, and abilities, conducts reviews of projects and designs for accomplishment by both in-house staff and service contract. In a supervisory capacity, plans the work to be accomplished by subordinates to include setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contracting/Procurement Leadership Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
