This vacancy is for a GS-0080-13, Physical Security Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, MISSION ASSURANCE DIVISION -CG-SPM-1 in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
Major duties
You will serve as a Physical Security Specialist and be responsible for assisting the USCG Physical Security Program Manager with the development of physical security policy and implementation of program initiatives. The incumbent reviews and evaluates existing policy and assists with writing, planning, organizing establishing, publishing disseminating, and implementing new physical security policy. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Serve as a physical security technical expert in developing new or proposed security policies designed to protect Coast Guard assets and personnel. Evaluating the effectiveness of existing physical security practices, recommending the type of control requirements, procedures, and facilities needed. Planning, organizing, and coordinating briefings and information exchange opportunities. Preparing reports of vulnerability assessment findings and recommendations. Resolving major conflicts in policy and program objectives during these visits and prepares a report of the compliance visits findings and recommendations. What you need to qualify
Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. Transcripts must be submitted with your application package. You MUST meet the following requirements: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis and should demonstrate.
