What you'd do
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base(DIB) & Major Range & Test Facilities base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a permanent position located at Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Customer Programs, Quality and Logistics Directorate, Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet NY.
Major duties
Serves as the point of contact for demilitarization and turn-in of material for Watervliet Arsenal, Benet Labs and tenant organizations. Responsible for maintaining files of all accountable items that are turned in or demilitarized. Identifies and sorts items to prepare for shipment to turn in sites for resale. Ensure shipping operations comply with Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, and Environmental Protection Agency standards (packaging, placarding, transportation, and manifesting). Responsible for identification and research of assets and demilitarization codes. Receives, inspects, sorts, counts, and classifies the material that is sent into the building for processing. Measures, palletizes, bands and records weight and dimensions to initiate requests for shipment. Inspects all paperwork such as drain and purge statements, DLA Form 2500 Certification of Hard Drive Removal, Inert Certification, Radioactive Property Certification DOD 4160.21-M, and PCB Certification and Analysis for completeness and accuracy.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Maintaining files of all accountable items that are turned in or demilitarized; (2) Identifying and/or researching assets and demilitarization codes; and (3) Planning, coordinating, and/or advising on work efforts or resolving operating problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major course of study in engineering, production management, industrial management, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
