About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Child Development Center, Schriever SFB, CO. This position is Regular Part Time and includes benefits Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing over 50 pounds Continuous standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending A valid state driver's license is required

Major duties

Loads, and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from truck, vans, or loading docks. Moves heavy boxes, cartons, and furniture by hand, hand truck or dolly. Opens crates and boxes using crowbars and cuts bands with shears. Stacks and places boxes and cartons where directed. Using a shovel, digs ditches and trenches where is pick is not needed to loosen soil, and where grading and sloping are not required. Fills holes with dirt and levels bumps and low places using a shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Mixes and pours concrete, assists in forming walls, minor carpentry and minor building and playground repairs and maintenance. Operates riding powered mowers and manual lawn mowers. Adjusts blades, cleans and oils mowers. Cuts trees using a hand saw, axe, or chainsaw. Assists in pruning hedges and shrubbery. Picks up and delivers bulk mail. Washes and waxes assigned vehicles by hand or with a power buffer. Performs general clean upand around facilities and playgrounds. Assembles furnishings and equipment using appropriate hand tools. Delivers equipment to annexes and out-lying facilities. Acts as Vehicle Fleet Monitor. Checks vehicle fluids, battery life, ensures fleet is filled with gas and all reported maintenance issues are addressed and fixed by the Auto Hobby Shop. Maintains monthly checklist and keeps all paperwork accurate and current. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Some degree of manual skill and prior work experience is required to work safely with heavy hand tools or to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment. Manual skill and knowledge to operate simple power equipment, such as powered push lawnmowers, leaf blowers, weed trimmers and low-pressure sprayer. Knowledge of basic hand tools such as handsaws, hatchets, clippers. Ability to read and follow simple signs and specific written and/or oral instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds and be able to use heavy hand tools and operate equipment. Frequent walking, standing, and pushing of equipment.
