You will serve as a FABRIC WORKER in the TEMPORARY SERVICES SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Kittery, ME Salary WG-10 -$37.68-$43.96 San Diego, CA Salary WG-10- $31.91-$37.19
Major duties
You will use a variety of sensitive, calibrated, and precision trade specific instruments and equipment. You will identify staging and scaffolding needs that are adequate for the enclosure to identify any interference in the area. You will design, fabricate, inspect, install, remove, and maintain nuclear and non-nuclear containments and enclosures. You will serve as the journeyman Fabric Worker/Containment Fabricator.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: *Plans, organizes, coordinates, and implements numerous quality-related requirements as they relate to design, fabrication, inspection, installation, and removal for both off-hull and in-hull enclosures. *Assesses complex containment needs depending on the area located and the hazards involved. *Determines and develops the fabrication, methods taken, materials needed to create and install, layout work and equipment used for preparation and construction of radiological and non-radiological barriers and enclosures. *Uses complex equipment and calibration instruments to prepare and manufacture containment. *Selects, cuts, shapes, joins, bonds, fits, and assembles containments.
