Major duties

You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries for use by managers. You will perform studies or assist others with full scale studies. You will assist in the performance of functions such as formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities; review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will assist in isolating, defining and resolving abnormal conditions of reimbursable accounts. You will independently plan and carry out the assignment in conformance with accepted accounting, budget, or financial practices adhering to instructions, policies, and guidelines. You will compile, analyze, and summarize financial and/or budget information related to assigned areas of a financial program. You will apply a wide range of standard practices and procedures to phases of an annual budget and/or financial administrative processes. You will monitor appropriated fund commitments, obligations and expenses to analyze reimbursable funding, recommending and/or assisting in identifying overages/shortages to command priorities. You will prepare daily and weekly Status of Funds reports on reimbursable accounts.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing budget obligations and expenditures or auditing financial records utilizing automated systems. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
