Major duties
Provides day-to-day leadership and directs work assignments in relation to the Grand Coulee Power Office (GCPO) maintenance operations program. Ensures collaboration and effective communications with GCPO managers, engineers, contractors, and other concerned parties regarding various hydro-electrical and mechanical maintenance projects. Plans and schedules all maintenance activities; determines and allocates resources, equipment and materials required to meet established work objectives. Coordinates closely with area supervisors, engineering personnel, and project stakeholders to maintain consistent communication and work direction in meeting prioritized maintenance objectives. Monitors progress of ongoing work, resolves scheduling conflicts, and recommends changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Works in collaboration with union representatives to address outstanding concerns and maintain constructive labor management relations. Performs other related duties as assigned within this job classification.

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard for the WG-4700 General Maintenance and Operations Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element requirement indicated and demonstrate through experience and training that you possess the required quality level of knowledge and skills necessary to perform the major duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis of requirements is on the quality of relevant experience, not necessarily the length of time.
