Major duties

You will perform account maintenance and accounting support work. You will verify, maintain, and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports. You will provide technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods. You will review to determine signature authentication, correct processing codes, and may include operation of cash registers. You will answer requests and providing advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures. You will perform work to establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.

What you need to qualify

GS-07 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing account maintenance and establishment, budget analysis, data arrangement and financial reporting for an organization or financial program. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing account maintenance, budgeting support, and financial reporting for an organization or financial program. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
