Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

Major duties

What to Expect: Organizes and coordinates various catering/special events such as; membership affairs, command functions, cultural events, balls, etc. Meets with clients, discusses requirements for events such as date, number of guests, occasion, and explains services offered, i.e., room, decorations, menu, entertainment, etc. Checks and verifies work in progress ensuring procedures, methods and deadlines are met. Ensures quality in service, food and beverage products. Ensures that all work areas of the catering department are organized, well maintained and that all equipment and supplies are clean and stored in their proper places. Ensures that employees are appropriately dressed, neat and clean at all times and in compliance with sanitation regulations. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you need to qualify

What are we looking for? At least one year experience that demonstrates knowledge of standardized club or food facility operational practices and procedures, pricing and ability to coordinate with all facets of the club operation. Knowledge and understanding of catering practices. Skills necessary to assist customers in planning party functions. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate functions to provide the best in quality service to patrons, with a personal dedication to complete customer satisfaction. Ability to carry out responsibilities in an independent manner, working under pressure with limited supervision. Ability to prepare reports and complete simple contractual arrangements. Skill to deal courteously and effectively with customers, employees and management.
