Special Assistant
What you'd do
This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration,Federal Record Centers. As a special assistant you will be providing high-level support through a variety of cross-cutting, organizational development projects and assignments designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of programs, systems, processes, and staff.
Major duties
As a Special Assistant, you will: Ensure a high-level of communication with internal and external advisory groups , and support communication activities with component heads, managers, supervisors, administrative staff, and stakeholders. Propose, manage, and participate in projects to improve operations and culture. Develop work plans, provide general day-to-day direction in compliance with work plans, policies and procedures, monitor progress, and submit management reports.
What you need to qualify
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-15: You must have at least one year of experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels in an organization and with internal and external stakeholders. AND Leading, initiating, and managing special projects and/or assignments. AND Overseeing budgets, analyzing results, developing proposals, and briefing management. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following requirements, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): Time-in-Grade: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
