What you'd do

You will serve as NIWC Pacific's Communications and Networks (C&N) Engineering Senior Scientific Technical Manager and C&N Department Head of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Major duties

You will provide advanced and/or unprecedented scientific and/or technical guidance and recommendations to top-level administrative and technical management officials within the STRL, DoD, other federal agencies, and academia. You will perform and/or manages research and development in the physical and engineering sciences and other fields closely related to the Center's mission. You will be responsible for rigorous yet agile systems engineering and disciplined technical leadership in the development of Communication and Network Systems. You will lead engineering, development, and integration of seabed-to-space systems and capabilities. Covers tactical/enterprise networking, commercial/military communications, and positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQs): Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications: TQ1. Skilled and knowledgeable in fostering, guiding, and directing research, development, and fielding of Communications and Networks technologies and systems. Knowledge of the development, test and sustainment of application software in the Communications and Networks domain. TQ2. Leadership and management experience of large organizations, including: providing technical vision and strategic focus, workforce development, mentoring/coaching technical experts in Communications and Networks domains, and a thorough understanding of budgeting and execution of financial operations within Working Capital Fund (WCF) system, including the A-11 Budget Process.
