This vacancy is for a GS-0101-14, Sexual Assault Prevention, Response and Recovery (SAPRR) Program Coordinator located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Workforce and Family Service Directorate, SAPRR Oversight & Policy Office, in Washington, D.C.
Major duties
You will serve as a Sexual Assault Prevention, Response and Recovery (SAPRR) Program Coordinator and be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing tasks in support of the Sexual Assault Prevention, Response and Recovery (SAPRR) Program as directed by the SAPRR Office Chief and Coast Guard (USCG) senior leadership. The incumbent assists the supervisor in coordinating SAPRR program activities, policy, and initiatives across the Coast Guard. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Supporting the Sexual Assault Prevention, Response, and Recovery (SAPRR) Office Chief and USCG senior leaders in developing and refining the USCG SAPRR program strategy. Collaborating with the SAPRR Office Chief and related Workforce Service (WFS) elements in meeting SAPRR program goals, coordinating across HQ staff elements and interagency partners. Tracking, monitoring, and synchronizing compliance with statutory requirements derived from the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and other Congressional directives applicable to the USCG SAPRR Program. Planning and coordinating SAPRR program initiatives and activities through liaison with DHS, DoD Departments and Services, Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), academia, and national organizations specific to sexual assault prevention and response. Initiating, developing, and revising SAPRR policy directives, instructions, strategic planning, and other program guidance in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Congressional requirements. Identifying appropriate training and professional development opportunities for the SAPRR workforce to develop skills and maintain currency in the SAPRR community. What you need to qualify
Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. Transcripts must be submitted with your application package. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience may include the following: Sexual Assault Prevention, Response, and Recovery Program Management - Coordinating operations in support of statutory and regulatory requirements governing sexual assault prevention, response, and recovery (SAPRR). Written and Oral Communication - Developing narrative presentations, fact sheets, information papers, action memorandums, statistical graphs, charts, and other displays for presentation to senior staff, interagency SAPRR program managers, Congressional staffs, Public Affairs, and other entities. SAPPR Knowledge - Mastering professional sexual assault prevention and response program management and policy analysis, to include planning and executing a victim-centered, public health framework in the Armed Services sufficient to reduce harmful behaviors and develop protective factors within the workforce. Reporting Requirements - Understanding correspondence and reporting requirements sufficient to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to draft legislative correspondence, Congressional inquiries, and program policy documents.
