What you'd do

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the CODE 87500 High-Side Networks (HSN) Branch of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Major duties

You will providing leadership and strategic direction for HSN cybersecurity, IT service management, network-system operations, and network-management efforts that sustain NIWC Pacific's core mission of Information Dominance/C4ISR. You will develop, implement, and evaluate Intelligence Community and special program IT policies, standards, procedures, governance frameworks, and strategic plans to ensure compliance. You will monitor emerging technologies, Federal, DoD, Intelligence Community, special program IT policy changes, cybersecurity requirements, and industry best practices to recommend strategic improvements and innovation initiatives. You will be responsible for workforce planning, development, and management in accordance with Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) guidelines. You will supervise and provide managerial direction to a staff of Cybersecurity and Information Technology (IT) professionals; and you will serve as the external-customer liaison for the HSN Branch.

What you need to qualify

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Develops, implements, and evaluates Intelligence Community and special program IT policies, standards, procedures, governance frameworks, and strategic plans to ensure compliance. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Incumbent will be responsible for workforce planning, development, and management in accordance with Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) guidelines. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Supervising and providing managerial direction to a staff of Cybersecurity and Information Technology (IT) professionals. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Monitors emerging technologies, Federal, DoD, Intelligence Community, special program IT policy changes, cybersecurity requirements, and industry best practices to recommend strategic improvements and innovation initiatives. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band NM-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Providing leadership and strategic direction for cybersecurity, IT service management, network-system operations, and/or network-management efforts that sustain command's core mission of Information Dominance.
