Major duties

As a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0346-12, you will serve as Chief, Distribution Management Division providing logistics guidance and support to units, organizations and activities through the management of logistics activities. Responsible to provide supervision for Plans and Policy, Food Service, Defense Movement, Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO), Command Property Management, Aerial Delivery Logistics Facilities(ADLF) and Supply and Services. This work requires knowledge of a broad range of supply program relationships of significant depth in supply management. Assignments require knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of supply programs and operations. The incumbent applies a depth of knowledge developed from extensive experience in supply operations. The incumbent must analyze independently and resolve difficult issues and problems, to include supply processes, work methods, supply data management and operational procedures. As the supervisor you will sets overall objectives and decide on resources available. As the supervisor you will determining which project to initiate, develop deadlines and identify staff and resources required to complete. Incumbent is responsible for planning and carrying out the work, resolving most conflicts that arise, integrating and coordinating work of others as necessary and interpreting policy in terms of established objectives. As the supervisor, employees will keep you informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, issues with far-reaching implications and intractable problems. You will apply such directives issued by NGB, policy statements and objectives, interagency supply program policy proposals requiring refinement and coordination or other guides not specific on how they are to be defined, implemented and monitored. You will investigate and analyzing a variety of unusual supply problems, questions or conditions associated with questions about supply programs and operations, formulating projects or studies to substantially alter existing supply systems or establishing criteria in an assigned area of specialization.

What you need to qualify

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES: Officers- O2 thru O4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - GS12: You must have at least 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level, identifying activities involving logistical support operations; experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan; experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices; experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
