Major duties
You will analyze and define system requirements, translate technical needs into practical application designs, participate in technical reviews, and ensure delivered solutions satisfy established performance and quality expectations. You will design application architecture, develop and maintain reliable code, create intuitive user interfaces, integrate hardware and software components, and produce clear technical documentation that supports ongoing operations. You will evaluate software technologies, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate with subject matter experts, support testing activities, and help ensure applications perform reliably while meeting security and quality standards. You will analyze data requirements, design and implement databases, monitor performance, manage backup and recovery activities, and recommend improvements that strengthen reliability, scalability, and long term effectiveness. You will develop and maintain data standards, administer database policies and procedures, support data analysis and warehousing efforts, evaluate emerging database technologies, and improve overall information management capabilities. You will apply established information security practices throughout application and data management activities, protect the integrity of technology services, resolve technical concerns, and elevate unresolved issues through appropriate leadership.
What you need to qualify
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Utilize analytical skills, evaluation techniques, and re-engineering methods to assess the technical, financial, and programmatic implications of prospective IT endeavors. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Manage stakeholder requirements from internal/external agencies helping execute and accomplish organizational goals and objectives. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the workforce communicating organizational goals and objectives while aligning with the command's initiatives. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analysis, reporting, coordinating, and facilitating working groups to meet and resolve project objectives. In addition: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Expert knowledge of and demonstrated experience in applying Information Technology pronciples and practives. 2. Ability to work on a diverse team engaged in Defense Acquisition program management activiities. 3. Expert knoweldge of inteligence applications such as Microsft Reporting Services and/or Microsft Structure Qyery Language (SQL) (for Data Manager). 4. Expert knowledge of any of the following functional areas: - Application Software - Data Management 5. Ability to communciate effectively both orally and in writing.
