SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (OFFICE AUTOMATION)

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supply Technician responsible for supply operations, logistics support, control and disposition of excess furniture, fixtures and equipment for the 88th Force Support Squadron. Activities pertain to managing vehicle fleets, equipment, and supplies from several different fund sources for multiple flights within 88 FSS.
Major duties
Manages, controls, and coordinates Appropriated fund (APF) and Non-appropriated fund (NAF) logistics. Provides supply support and account management for the 88 FSS vehicle fleet. Determines stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion. Prepares recurring and special reports. Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with team members, related functions, and operating officials.
What you need to qualify
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in managing, controlling, and coordinating Appropriated Fund (APF) and Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) logistics and vehicle fleet supply accounts using governing supply regulations and automated systems to process transactions. Experience in analyzing inventory data to establish stock levels for non-recurring, specialized items based on demand, and resolving complex supply document discrepancies through systematic review. Experience also includes performing qualified typing, executing administrative office functions, and utilizing office automation software to generate accurate reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence. Experience also includes communicating effectively both orally and in writing to collaborate with team members, related agencies, and operating officials. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions: and supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system; correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports; and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. Skill in typing, a qualified typist is required. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material and utilize basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems. Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
